Info in English

Thassos Dance Festival “Palataki” was born through the collaboration of Cultural Research Center (KE.L.E.) and local Cultural Association of Limenaria.

The Festival was created as a need for an emergence of cultural heritage of people living in Thassos but also across Greece. A solid effort so people who are interested in traditional Greek dance, to meet, interact, exchange points of view and finally explore the beauty of Thassos island, having new experiences and unforgettable moments.

Three days in Limenaria of Thassos with live traditional orchestras and dancing presentations for two nights, historical guides, good food, sea, sun and sand and a lot of dance!

The name “Palataki” comes from the building- monument of Limenaria that was built in early 1900, and hosted the headquarters of the German Mine company with the name “Speidel”. Today “Palataki”, as named from the locals as it reminded them of a small palace, is abandoned even if it is categorized and enlisted as a maintain monument since 1982. Despite the fact that local organizations are making huge effort to guarantee support from the municipality and local authorities, the building is losing its brightness day by day, abandoned and neglected but still breathtaking.
